Ooo! I can’t wait to get to CO next month, I love Breckenridge. Sooo beautiful. I lived on Lake Tahoe for a few years and the mountains never get dull.
Ohh wow…this is a gorgeous picture! I’d love to take a girl here! Altitude, mist, trees, and freedom…this picture definitely pulls you in. Thank for sharing.
Funny how it is that you look at snow on your driveway and it irritates you …. And then you look at this, and you cannot wait to get into the mountains.
and it’s funny that our schools close at a 5% chance of snow. We don’t know what we’re doing in Texas when it snows. But I know what you mean. Thanks for the comment.
agree with him… just a little crop and it would have been really awesome! but still a good picture. would be glad to get critique from you too, my side is michaelhornbogen.wordpress.com
I agree with you both. Truthfully, I hate to crop. To crop or not to crop. Sometimes I like the guy b/c he surprises me when I’m glued looking into the light in the center. Thanks for the critique. A good point.
Really Clear Shot! All I can think of when I see this is how incredibly aweful and icy the air would feel on my face though. . .this is pretty, but it feels unpleasant to look at. -At least for me.
It’s nice it creates a feeling for you. Sorry that feeling is “unpleasantness”. . It creeps me out too and that’s why I like it. It was so cold that eyelids froze open. I freezing just thinking about it.
Great shot! I love photography. Love to take photos… I have some entered in blog posts of old houses/barns n stuff from Arkansas out in the country. Love cloud shots. Have a few from here in Louisville about a month ago on a beautiful clear, blue sky, white cloud day I am going to post soon. Thanks and have a great week…
Hey, what wrong with eerie!! My wife says a lot of my photos are eerie. Those are on other sites, maybe I should put a few more up here. I liked your blog and your take on laughing. Insightful.
Wonderful photos – each one more intruiging then the last. I think you can remove “amateur” from your title now. congratulations on being Freshly Pressed.
I really appreciate that. It came as quite the shock to be freshly pressed. In the beginning of remaking my entire photoblog when that happened. I’m going to make sure I save your comment for the ‘dry spells’. Thanks. I enjoyed reading your blog.
There’s nothing quite like the haunting beauty of the Rockies, and you captured it wonderfully. Which chairlift was that, and when were you up there? It looks like it was either about to snow or had just finished snowing.
Great comment. Much appreciated. That’s Centennial lift, Beaver Ceek, in 2010. It had snowed in the night and as I recall just before and just after the shot. Lots of snow that day.
I was about to log out when your picture caught my attention. Wow! It’s like a chairlift to heaven. It’s surreal. We don’t get this out here in the tropics, I’m afraid. Colder weather just means rain and floods. Thanks for the picture.
It’s like a special effect from a sci-fi film. You were obviously heading towards a temporal portal into another era. Lucky the chair lift stopped, or we’d have never seen this photo!
Beautiful picture! (I love black and white) Where was it taken?
I also really love photography, feel free to check out my blog : http://clearlyhomemade.wordpress.com
Congrats on the freshly-pressedness!
Maybe it’s just the fact that yesterday was Halloween, but the lighting in this is so eerie… at the same time, this photo gets me really excited for my late winter Salt Lake trip! What an incredible view!
Hey!for some reason my eye caught your picture of the chairlifts and I have to say it really contains a special feeling,it’s peaceful! Then I saw that you have been to Skåne, where I live=) Love the yellow raps! /Catalina
@Catalina You gotta love the raps!!! I agree with you on that. Happy the picture had a peaceful feeling for you. It’s a little eerie to me. Very jealous that you like in Skåne…my favorite place.
Okay, I browse through the whole blog… you got a nice photos collection, and the skill, as well.
Anyway, this photo look great too… with the spotlight style sunray… nice catch!!
Ooo! I can’t wait to get to CO next month, I love Breckenridge. Sooo beautiful. I lived on Lake Tahoe for a few years and the mountains never get dull.
The mountains never get dull, particularly when you live in Texas like me. Have a great time next month! Take some pictures.
I love Lake Tahoe too, I went skiing with my family, enjoy this winther, W
I’ve never been there. But I think I should
.
Wow, amazing
Thanks for visiting!
Great picture, very mystic!
Thank you. It felt creepy being their and seeing it. The picture still “makes me nervous”.
Almost spooky — perfect for Halloween (and by the way, the pic also makes me c-c-c-cold!)…
It still creeps me out…fully. It certainly reminds me of how cold it was dangling in the air that morning.
Absolutely love this pic!
Thanks so much, and for looking around.
I love this kind of photos, they are so mysterious and spiritual.
I agree.
Great pic!

Love the picture! Would have been perfect if not for the person in the left corner.
Thank you. I was freezing cold and hate to crop.
Very atmospheric – I can feel and smell the damp and cold from here – extremely Encounters of the …
Thanks for sharing it
Wow. Quite the comment. Thanks! Those chairs are headed right into the spaceship.

Thanks for the thoughtful comment! Much better than my reply
Thank you all very much for the great comments!
This is beautiful !!
The picture exudes another dimension. The lighting beyond the chair lifts makes a case for interpreting the photo as a journey into infinity.
Ronnie
What a fantastic comment! Thanks for telling me what the picture “does”. Really appreciate it, and it is helpful. Thanks Ronnie.

I like the photo, but that skier at bottom left is irritating! Crop or Photoshop him out, then I’d like the image even more.

It’s coming into summer where I live now. This is a lovely, peaceful reminder of home. Thank you.
Argentina. Fantastic. I’d like to head down there very much.
The atmosphere created by the mist, the sun, and the way the lifts receed into the distance is very striking. Nice!
What an insightful comment. I really appreciate your critique. Thanks!
